Section 2 Summary

Embracing your patterns of behavior is critical to begin your recovery. You must know each of your pieces so you can complete your own puzzle. Once you have honestly identified patterns, you can make conscious changes to your behavior. These changes can be implemented and change your life.

Actions to Take

Begin changing your life:

  • Reoccurring themes. Go back and review the Q & A or your notes for any “hot spots” or areas that really speak to you. Journal out your feelings as to why they touch you to be clear in your mind why you continue to choose that behavior.
  • Practice setting boundaries.
  • You have the right to say “No”, be happy and be loved.
  • Self talk – what does your music say?
    • How will you plant and care for your garden?
    • Affirmations.
  • What are your Parent-child hooks?
  • Did you identify and evaluate your relationship patterns?
  • Are you depressed?
  • How are you managing addictive behavior?
  • How are you affected by the medical impact of abuse?
