Day 34 – Even If I Fall. The final stretch of the 40 day journey of hope!
Daily Hope Verse – Psalm 27:7–8 (NIV)
“Hear my voice when I call, Lord; be merciful to me and answer me. My heart says of you, ‘Seek His face!’ Your face, Lord, I will seek.”
Also remember Psalm 28:7 (NIV):
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me.”
Dear Friends,
We’ve reached the final section of the Stronger than Espresso® journey—Step 5: Redefine Your Life.
This is the season of celebration—the moment when healing turns into courage and survivors begin to live forward with purpose and freedom.
Today, I can be strong in a new way because God has me. Every step—even the uncertain ones—has been used for good. My life has become a series of God-anointed appointments and unexpected miracles. When fear tempts me to look the other way, He whispers, “Keep your eyes on Me.”
I love the image of God holding my hand—steady, scarred, unshakable. He says, “Go for it. Even if you fall, I’ll catch you.” That’s what faith looks like—trusting the lift even when you can’t yet see the wings.
A Personal Note from Dr. Brooke
When I founded Stronger than Espresso® in 2013, it came from a place of pain and purpose. I wanted to create what I never had—a pathway to healing that honored faith, dignity, and education. I didn’t want another woman to walk through abuse and trauma alone.
This past year, I took my own “Redefine Your Life” step by reentering the insurance career that my abuser stole from me more than two decades ago. For me, it wasn’t just a job—it was redemption.
It was the bold act of reclaiming what was taken and saying, “God, I trust You with my future again.”
During this same season, God gave me another surprising instruction:
“Drum unto Me.”
That word changed everything. I bought a drum kit, took lessons, and began to worship through rhythm—learning to praise God through melody and movement. The Psalms call these songs Shiganoth (or Shiggaion), which means songs of passionate, rhythmic praise sung from the depths of emotion.
Now, when I play, I feel freedom in every beat. Each strike on the drum is a declaration:
I am still here. I am free. I am alive.
Faith became my rhythm. Hope became my melody. Worship became my healing.
💜 Domestic Violence Awareness Month Spotlight
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM)—a time to bring truth into the light, honor survivors, and strengthen our collective response to abuse. Here are four current stories shaping the national conversation right now:
-
DOJ Furloughs Threaten Domestic Violence Funding
Recent federal furloughs at the Department of Justice have affected offices that distribute grants to domestic violence programs, including the Office on Violence Against Women. Many agencies are concerned about delays that could impact survivor services.

April Wilkens and the Oklahoma Survivors Act
April Wilkens, a survivor incarcerated for killing her abuser, became the first woman to seek resentencing under Oklahoma’s new Survivors Act. Her ongoing case highlights the continued struggle for justice and reform for survivors.

DV Awareness Theme: “With Survivors, Always”
The national theme for 2025—With Survivors, Always—reminds us that our work doesn’t end in October. Support, education, and hope must continue every single day.

Digital Abuse on the Rise
Advocates report a surge in digital abuse—GPS tracking, spyware, and online harassment used as tools of control. Survivors are encouraged to review safety settings, change passwords, and seek tech-safety resources.

💡 Stronger Women Tip of the Day
Abuse evolves, but so does awareness. Whether through policy, funding, or technology, hope thrives when we stay informed, stay vocal, and stay united—With Survivors, Always.
Hope Reflections
-
Where has God already caught you when you thought you’d fall?
-
How does worship—through music, song, or movement—help you heal?
-
What melody of faith can you play today as your song of freedom?
Hope Goal for Today
Celebrate how far you’ve come. Let go of fear and lift your hands in gratitude. Redefine your life not by what you’ve survived, but by what God is creating next.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for holding my hand and catching me when I stumble. Thank You for teaching me to drum, to dance, to worship You with my whole heart. Even if I fall, let my life be a melody of hope and a rhythm of praise. Amen.
You Belong Here.
Even if you fall, hope will still catch you.
