Dear Friends,
Today is bittersweet. On September 30, 2025, I walked through our Stronger Women corporate office for the last time, closing the door on eight faithful years of ministry and international outreach from that small but mighty space. Overlooking a prayer garden, that office was a birthplace of healing, restoration, and hope.
And now, on October 1, 2025, we launch forward—relocating Stronger Women’s corporate office to McKinney, Texas. This move comes at the perfect time: the start of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. What better moment to open a new chapter than during a month devoted to awareness, education, and change?
It’s hard to say goodbye. Change is never easy. Yet the song Brave reminds us:
“Say what you wanna say, and let the words fall out… Honestly, I wanna see you be brave.”
For me, this step is about courage. Courage to let go of the old. Courage to embrace the unknown. Courage to believe that God is doing a new thing in me, in Stronger Women, and in every survivor who walks through our doors.
💜 5 Ways to Help a Friend in a Domestic Violence Situation
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and awareness only matters if it leads to action. If a friend or loved one confides in you, here are five steps you can take to respond with compassion and wisdom:
-
Listen Without Judgment
Let them share their story. Don’t rush. Don’t minimize. Believe them. -
Affirm Their Worth
Survivors often feel like they are to blame. Remind them: “This is not your fault. You deserve to be safe and loved.” -
Prioritize Safety
Instead of telling them what to do, ask: “Do you feel safe right now?” Encourage them to think about a safety plan. -
Offer Resources, Not Rescue
Share hotline numbers, shelters, or Stronger Women groups. Empower them with choices instead of taking control. -
Stay Supportive Long-Term
Leaving is rarely one moment—it’s often a long, difficult process. Keep showing up. Keep reminding them of hope.
Hope Goals for Today
-
Goal: Recognize one old coping pattern and commit to a healthier choice.
-
Pathway: Replace harmful responses with courage and faith.
-
My Next Step: Speak up bravely—whether in my own healing or by standing beside someone who needs a voice.
Reflection
This move is more than an address change—it’s a Brave step of faith. Just like survivors taking steps toward healing, we may not see the whole road ahead. But each small act of bravery—whether moving an office, speaking a hard truth, or choosing safety—opens the door to freedom.
Today, I choose Brave.
