Dear Friends,
How is your hope today? 💙 Is your hope rising? Some days it feels steady, like an anchor holding us secure. Other days it feels fragile, slipping through our hands. Abuse, betrayal, and disappointment can weigh us down, whispering: “You’ll never move past this.”
But God reminds us:
-
“We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God, where Jesus, running on ahead of us, has taken up his permanent post as high priest for us.” — Hebrews 6:19–20 (MSG)
-
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” — Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV)
-
“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead…” — Philippians 3:13-14 (NIV)
When we let go, we are not erasing the past—we are choosing not to stay anchored in pain. Instead, we let God’s anchor hold us steady as He pulls us into a new season.
Devotional
Ships are safe at harbor, but that’s not what ships are for. Healing requires courage to leave the dock, to pull up the anchor of fear, and to step into open seas with God as our captain.
Letting go does not mean forgetting. It means releasing what no longer defines you—betrayal, rejection, disappointment—and choosing to be defined by God’s love and promises instead.
Today, hear His whisper: “It’s a new season. I am doing a new thing. You are safe with Me.”
5 Anchors of Hope
-
Scripture – Hold tightly to promises that keep your soul steady.
-
Prayer – Drop your anchor in God’s presence; even a simple “Help me, Lord” secures you.
-
Worship – Sing, drum, journal, or dance as an act of hope rising in your spirit.
-
Community – Surround yourself with people who remind you of your worth when storms hit.
-
Next Step – Take one act of courage today; each step keeps you tethered to God’s promises.
