Dear Friends,
Today is a sacred reminder: “There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.” (Proverbs 23:18, NIV).
For those of us who have walked through trauma, abuse, or deep despair, it can feel like the future is blurry or uncertain. But God’s Word cuts through that fear. His promise is that hope is secure, not fragile. His love has already written your tomorrow.
Ecclesiastes 3 reminds us that every season has a purpose in God’s plan:
Ecclesiastes 3:1–8 (NIV)
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
This scripture is a beautiful reminder that whatever season you are in—mourning, healing, rebuilding, or growing—God has not left you. Each phase is purposeful, temporary, and part of His greater design.
Reflection
Emotional and verbal abuse can leave deep wounds—leading to depression, substance use, or even thoughts of suicide. On this Suicide Prevention Day, I want you to hear this clearly: You are seen. You are valued. You belong here.
There is a time to cry, but also a time to heal. There is a time to feel broken, but also a time to rise in God’s strength. Your current season does not define your forever.
5 Mindfulness Ideas to Recognize God’s Love in Every Season
-
Pause to Breathe: Take 3 slow breaths and whisper, “God’s love surrounds me.”
-
Step Outside: Notice one thing in creation (sky, trees, wind) as a reminder of God’s presence.
-
Gratitude Note: Write down one thing you are thankful for, no matter how small.
-
Scripture Whisper: Repeat Proverbs 23:18 or Ecclesiastes 3:1–8 aloud.
-
Hand Over the Burden: Close your eyes, imagine placing your worry into God’s hands, and say, “I trust You.”
Hope Goals ❤️
-
Goal: Trust that this season has purpose.
-
Pathway: Lean on God’s Word, community, or prayer to remind you of His faithfulness.
-
My Next Step: Write down what season you feel you are in today, and then one small step you can take to move forward in hope.
Closing Prayer
Lord, You see me in every season. When I feel weary, remind me that Your love is steady. Anchor me in hope today. Give me courage to face tomorrow, knowing my life has value and purpose in You. Amen.
