Ghosted, But Not Gone: 3 of 4-Part Blog Series & Reflection Questions
Blog 3: Still Called to Shine
What happens when you’re ghosted but still have to keep showing up? This post speaks into the identity crisis that comes when you’re ignored by those who once praised you—and the spiritual truth that your light never depended on their applause.
You were never meant to dim just because they stopped looking.
It’s disorienting to feel invisible. To know what you bring to the table, but watch people walk right past it. To have the credentials, the calling, the capacity—but not the invitation.
Why does REJECTION hurt so much?
It is like being stabbed in the heart, the breathe sucked out of your lungs, immediately sick to your stomach. Whatever it is, you can still remain OKAY in the midst of rejection. Here’s how. Begin to tell yourself you have value. You think I have value right? You think your kids, your family members, your friends, coworkers, partners all have value.
WHY? do we not claim this value for ourselves. I see you. You see me. Why can’t I see myself? My value.
We start there. You have a value. This is a fundamental belief you will need to pursue!
But here’s the truth I had to reclaim: Being overlooked by people does not mean you’ve been overlooked by God. He doesn’t need anyone else’s yes to launch your assignment.
Today you may be facing child custody battles and legal battles about children. These are a place we desire to shine, but it is a place where abuse continues for decades in our systems. You may be forced to work with your abusive partner and their future or current partner in terms of the children and visitation. This can be a source of great pain for our clients and for anyone working through abusive relationships and post divorce custody situations.
Let’s work together to find ways to ease this burden on both the families and our court systems.
Isaiah 60:1 says, “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”
Your call to shine didn’t come from people—it came from God. And He has never ghosted you.
You have value, no matter what.
