“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new.’”
Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; They will run and not grow weary; They will walk and not be faint.”
☕ Dear Friends
On September 1, I began this journey not as a leader or founder — but as a woman still healing from depression and burnout. On September 2, I started a new career — a redemptive step that God had kept waiting for the right time.
I committed to 40 days of showing up, praying, writing, and believing in the power of hope again. And today, at the end, I stand free.
For years, I said that “Free Bird” would be my funeral song. It was the soundtrack to my pain and the dark nights when I didn’t want to live. But today, it isn’t a song of death — it’s a miracle of life. The same melody that once felt like goodbye now sings resurrection.
“’Cause I’m as free as a bird now, and this bird you cannot change.”
🕊️ Devotional – Fly Free Bird
Free Bird begins with the question:
“If I leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me?”
Anyone who’s battled despair or suicidal thoughts understands that ache. But God answers in Revelation 21:4: “I will wipe away every tear.” “I am making everything new.”
God didn’t abandon me in my pain — He sat in it with me until I could rise again. Hope didn’t erase my past; it gave me wings to fly above it.
✝️ Reflection
Forty days ago, I was surviving. Today, I am thriving. I’ve faced depression, loneliness, and loss — and I’ve learned this truth:
You can’t heal what you hide.
This journey was my act of faith — my daily “yes” to life. And now, it becomes an invitation for you to take the same step.
“Lord, thank You for turning my funeral song into my freedom song.”
💜 If You Are Feeling Depressed or Hopeless
You are not alone. You are loved. And there are steps you can take — today — to keep yourself safe and connected.
🕯 5 Tips for When You Feel Depressed or Hopeless
Tell Someone Now. Reach out to a trusted friend, pastor, or counselor. Saying the words “I need help” is an act of strength, not shame.
Stay Present — Don’t Isolate. When you want to withdraw, do one small thing that connects you: open a window, go outside, or send a text.
Remove Immediate Means of Harm. If you’re in crisis, ask someone to help make your space safe — remove anything that could cause injury.
Turn Down the Noise. Limit triggering media, alcohol, or social feeds. Replace chaos with calm — music, prayer, or breathing.
Call for Professional Help. You deserve support from trained helpers who can walk with you.
📞 Call or Text 988 — Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (24/7) 📞 National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) You are never beyond reach.
🚨 Recognizing Suicide Warning Signs
If you notice these in yourself or someone else, take them seriously:
Talking about wanting to die or “being a burden.”
Expressing deep hopelessness or guilt.
Withdrawing from people or activities.
Giving away possessions or saying goodbye.
Sudden calmness after deep despair.
If you see these signs: Ask. Listen. Stay. Help them get to safety. You can save a life.
✝️ Prayer
Lord, You turned my funeral song into my freedom song. Thank You for staying with me when I couldn’t see the light. Thank You for hope — real, living, life-saving hope. Teach me to soar with You — free, fearless, and stronger than espresso. Amen.
💜 Closing Affirmation
“This 40-day journey has taught me so much about myself and built hope. I have healed many wounds and launched my new career. I have been changed.”
